My recollection about the Vivitar 75-150/3.8 zoom with 'matching multiplier'
is that it was pretty well regarded when new. I had bought the Zuiko
75-150/4.0, then read some reviews and comparisons with the Vivitar which
rated them equal to slightly better for the Vivitar. The 2X multiplier was
supposed to work very well as it was 'optically matched' for minimal image
degradation. I suppose the Oly 2X-A is that way with the lenses it is
designed for... There was a bit of buyer's remorse for me back then...

I think you will be pleased with the Vivitar, they made some pretty good
lenses.
