Spotmatic because the previous cameras had been the S1, S2 and S3, and they
didn't want to make an S4. Of course, if there were any truth in this, why
would Olympus have called its last SLR the OM-4?"

Well, you see, that proves the point. The OM-4 is, unfortunately, Olympus's
last high-quality, "system" film SLR -- that's bad luck for all of us.

Riddle: Why is the Pentax Spotmatic like the Holy Roman Empire? Answer: Because
the Spotmatic doesn't have spot metering or automatic exposure.
