With the glass you may need to think like you are shooting into an aquarium.
It may be necessary to hang a black sheet or something in between the camera
and the art in order to prevent any reflections in the glass.  Just have the
lens poking out of a hole.
Otherwise I would just suggest 2 lights at 45 degrees 1 on either side.
