I can't quote the technical side of the issue, but the list has discussed in
detail the need to use Silver Oxide batteries in the OM-2/4 series of cameras
because of the discharge curve and resultant meter accuracy. SR44 should work
fine in your OM-4.
I believe that the operation of the OM-4 is virtually identical to the 4t
except that the 4 does not operate with the Super FP mode of the F-280 flash.
The spot metering and other functions are the same as far as I know.
