I just carry a bit of Kodak Black, Opaque tape and tape over the hole if I
forget the cover. It works just a nicely, although it would probably
degrade over a long period of time.

I don't use a winder very often, but when I do I am terrified of losing the
cover.
Depending on the quality of the copy, I'd be willing to pay $20 to have a
spare. As I see it, having no cover and getting dirt in the bottom of the
camera would cost much more in a CLA bill.
So put me down for two.
