Hi everyone,

who has experience with one of the above
two lenses (or both)?

I found out just the following:

I could make some test pictures with the Tamron lens.
I compared it with my 5-element-Zuiko 2.8/180 with an 1.4
and a 2.0xA Zuiko converter, and I found out that the
modern 10-element-Tamron is not significantly better
regarding the image quality when the aperture is open.
Especially at F2.8, there is very strong vignetting.

Furthermore, resultion and contrast at F2.8 is good, but nothing
special. At F4, it becomes better, and at F11 it was excellent.
The Zuiko converter 1.4xA does not fit mechanically to the Tamron
lens, but the Zuiko 2xA converter fits and the results are very good,
as far I could see it on the few test pictures I shoot.

Thanks for informations regarding these lenses!

Roland
