Yes. I've made some of my favorite floral shots with that combination
shooting the 50mm wide open.

Stupid question maybe, but if I put my vivitar 2x mf behind my 50/1.8 to
make a 100mm, I know I get equal to f/3.6 for light, but does the DOF
effectively stay at 1.8?
