I have - but only in some very old bellows cameras that had a non-tapered
thread on the release tip. Even then, a tapered release would grip. The
Leica/Nikon release had a cap that fitted over the shutter button, but an
adaptor was easily available. Other cameras used this style as it was more
stable and positive - I have an old Ricoh 519 rangefinder with it.
Never say never :)
