My astrophotography experience is somewhat limited, but I find the 1-8 is
a definite improvement over the 1-10 (or other 1-x matte screen) in my
OM-1. I suspect a 2-4 would be even better, but I don't have one modified
to fit my OM-1. You might want to try the 1-12 screen as well. Focusing
with the crosshairs takes a little practice, but I find the 1-12 with a
Varimagni finder the easiest combination I have for use with
astrophotography.
