I just shot a roll of black and white film, and got it printed -- rather to
my horror, the cost of printing was CDN$23.48 for a 36-exposure film. That's
half again as much as the same place charges for their high-end colour
printing.. Is this normal?
How much would it cost to print B+W myself, assuming I had a darkroom + kit
available? I realise that this'll vary depending on which
chemicals/paper/etc I use, but a ballpark figure would let me work out how
long it would take it to pay for itself if I bought one of the used darkroom
kits that float by from time to time. (otherwise, as nice as b+w is, I can't
see myself shooting a lot more of it at that sort of price..)
