I'm considering picking up a 28/2 lens. I've read that some of the early models didn't have the Floating element close-distance correction mechanism. Anyone know how I can tell if a lens has it or not? Maybe a serial # when they started using the floating element? Also, is it of much benefit to have this? Thanks.
