Rory,

I had a similar thing a year or two ago  --- spent a fortune on a repair
(for the flash intermittently not firing)  with a "specialist" camera
repairer in Oxford Street, and it failed just after the warranty ran out.

My humble advice for wot its werf :-- Yes it is worth it... a good clean OM1
will last forever and wont cost you a fortune in batteries.

Get in touch with Colchester Cameras. They're good, helpful, reasonably
quick and reasonably priced (a complete CLA cost me 89 pounds, which I think
is pretty good going).
