Indeed, very moving Chris.
My family and I visited the US cemetery at St Laurent
sur Mer (where part of Saving Private Ryan was filmed)
in Northern France earlier this year. I'm afraid that
emotion overtook me and the OM2SP was not used that
afternoon. As with Chris' Liberator pictures it was
quite a shock to realise how young these men were,
many of them not much older than my eldest son -
perhaps I'd always realised but somehow it had never
registered.

ignored in the
general mirth of victory back home. Who would want to
think about yet
another horribly sad and unlooked-for loss?
