I think Chris is talking about the current version of the motorized skate
that used to be the Lotus 7. He neglects to mention the sensation of sitting
with your arse on the concrete, unable to lower your arm for fear of
dragging your knuckles on the tarmac... ah yes, adequate room to
pack your travel gear... as long as you kept it to one toothbrush and
a Minox (the 8mm, not the 35, and NO room for your OM kit if you have
a passenger ) (oOMc). Go like stink, yes... as long as the fire-pump
Climax engine held up. Took corners like a monorail. Sheer fun!
Would love to have one again for a 'Sunday' driver, (as long as it's
not raining) but I'd hate to take one out on I-495, the Washington 'Beltway',
or drive one on the 800 mile jaunt to see my daughter. .. and I do NOT want
to think of how it would crumple if it ran head-on into Scale's Corvette!
