Dave Bulger wrote "normal-macro transition happened when an image was made at a magnification exceeding the closest focus of the lens being used". Although I agree with his statement as a whole, I would say macro lenses specifically designed for this purpose would already have to be included when focused at their minimum distance and not necessarily beyond.this minimum.
