Hi Alan,

I also own a ScanWit 2720 and went through a large part of the learning curve.
I've tried VueScan, but found no further benefits exept having better control.
The image quality, however, does not appear to improve for me.
What do you mean by downsizing 1:3?
Using Photoshop, I'd rather adjust the colours by hand. Auto adjust sometimes
produces poor image files, as the control is getting lost.
Here is how I scan: Use the 24 bit high quality setting (I prefer this because
I save and distribute the files as Tiff's) and adjust the levels one by one
(red, blue and green). The autolevel function works only fine with rather
equally exposed pictures, I found, and gives rather grainy images.
I recently compared a 13x18cm print from a negative with a scanned and
digitally printed picture of the same negative. I found that the "digitally
remastered" print was a little sharper. Quite the contrary of your experience.

Best regards

Bernd
