At least some of the recommended schottky diodes used for this project are
not quite as good as the Ge diodes used by John Hermanson et al. Check the
list archives for some comparison tests on various diode options for OM use.
Unfortunately some of the Ge diodes are also a bit larger so may not fit in
the adapter shown.
