Okay, OMer's, what do you do when you are in a photographic rut or
slump? I've switched from slides to B&W so I can learn printing, and
the switch seems to have killed my photo "eye". I look at my negs and
get depressed. Unfortunately travel isn't an option in the short term,
and that usually kick starts me. Any methods or suggestions?

Marcus, have you tried macro photography? You can get a 50/3.5 Zuiko
macro lens for a reasonable price (say around US$125-175) and open up a
whole new world!

Or you could try setting yourself a project - such as the various TOPE
themes. I even heard of a photog who concentrated on people smoking!

One thing that has inspired me, sometimes, is to go out on a walk or a
drive with only one lens - that you don't often use - and try to take
pictures that make best use of the lens's perspective. You may find you
see the world through new eyes!

Portraits can also be rewarding, especially those taken in available
light from a window, with the added advantage that they make very nice
gifts.

Don't give up!
