The art of making it in pawn shops is difficult. The money is made in making
loans at high interest and selling and buying jewelry. (also high risk of
buying deceptive junk or broken defective items, that could come back on
you.)

There's the cost of rent, insurance, electric, phone, advertising and
employee salary.

I agree some of the stuff priced in pawn shops is equal to that of new items
in stores, but there are deals to be had, and the art of the deal.

Eventually, everything sells, the price has to be right, and of course,  the
timming is important as well.
