I tried out my Centon 500mm f8 mirror on my Nikon F3 and then tried out my
ancient 500mm f8 preset lens (I won't even mention the name - doubt anyone
here will know it) on the same subject. The mirror reading was 1/250 while
the preset tele reading was 1/500. OK so there is a stop difference and the
f8 mrror is actually f.11 but 3 stops seems a lot. Good golly, what about
the lens markings? Imagine if you did not have ttl metering at all the kind
of results you would get. Surely there is something wrong here.
