Hey Chris-
Just a thought, but don't you need to have confidence in your fellow crewmen
if you're in a 2- seater or larger A/C? I am very familiar with the extensive
and repetitious drills you do in simulations of emergencies, and there's no
room nor tolerance for deviation from the procedures due to inexperience or
any other reason, right?
I think her actions ARE of use to NASA, and maybe to others also. Maybe
they'll rethink (which they did) if they should send a non-military
non-specialist civilian up there. What if the Challenger ( or another
aircraft or spacecraft ) was not necessarily doomed and she perceived it to
be and she's running around screaming and throwing switches? Her actions may
in fact, doom others when they weren't really in grave jeopardy.

story sounded like gossip or conjecture as you related it, and that
is not for us on the List to have to judge in my opinion.
