The 90/2.5 is the original Vivitar Series 1.  All metal, had separate 1:1
adapter with tripod collar on adapter. Adapter has optics in it.  HEAVY
lens.

The 90/2.8 was Vivitar's economy version. Went to 1:1 without any adapter.
Complete extension without optics.  More of a matte finish in body.  Lighter
weight.  Likely similar in optical quality to the 2.5 and certainly easier
to carry.

The other difference is that the 90/2.5 on Gary's list is MY lens! (:>)  I
love it!
