Is there any way to brighten up the view from the OM-1n?

I know from reading the archives that the type 2 focus screens are
brighter, but they don't work (or at least my understanding is they
ruin the meter reading). So how can I get a brighter image in the
view finder?

Thanks,
Albert

The original Leicaflex used a clear focussing screen with just a center microprism for focussing. It was very bright. I looked through a used Nikon FM at a photo show that had a similar screen installed and it was a knockout for brightness. Olympus makes a similar screen, the 1-5 for normal and wide angle, or the 1-6 for normal and telephoto. There is an 1-7 for slow super telephoto lenses. Olympus characterizes it as super bright.
