(snip) I have an OM 2 S/P, which I recently lent to a girlfriend, who

"click" but with no luck. Has anybody experienced something similar?
Any advise is appreciated.

Lars, I have experienced this problem when the wind gears in my OM-2S
got "crossed" some months ago. I could neither advance the film nor
press the shutter button. Fortunately, I was able to have it corrected
by an experienced camera technician here in Jakarta, where there are no
Oly specialists (AFAIK). If the fault in your camera is the same as
mine was, then it won't require special knowledge of the 2S's
electronics and I would expect any competent camera repair technician
should be able to help you.

Annyway, good luck and I hope you'll soon be able to get your 2S back
on the road. BTW, I assume you've already checked that you aren't just
experiencing a dead battery problem? As you probably know, the 2S goes
down like a sack of sh*t, with no warning at all, when the batteries
run out.

Regards,
