Hello list,
Recently, I sent various queries, one regarding the recessed cable under the
Bounce Grip. First of all, many thanks to all who replied either through the
list or directly. It's been a pleasant surprise to see that this list is
very active and good-humoured.
I've tracked a copy of the BG manual, and some of the answers were right,
the recessed cable is to be used with non-Olympus cameras or the OM-1. The
OM-2 only needs the TTL cord to link the QA310 on its BG. The socket on the
upper left of the BG is to plug an external AC supply.
After finishing a roll with this combo, I'm very happy with the results of
bounce and TTL flash photography at the same time. Also, in sequential mode
with the Winder 2, everything has worked beautifully.
If anybody is after a manual that doesn't appear as a pdf on the Olympus
manuals archive site, Old Timer Cameras in London specialises in reprints of
all sorts of manuals and books for cameras and photographic equipment. Not
cheap (£6.95 inc. p&p for the BG manual) but very useful. They were also

Finally, I've found a mail-order site with what seems to be cheap prices for
films and paper. Professionals will no doubt find cheaper supplies through
trade-only shops, but the prices on the site were quite an eye-opener for
somebody like me who was used to going to the local Boots store. The site is
www.7dayshop.com. Of course, if somebody knows of a place with even cheaper
prices, I'm listening :-)
