I thought some of you might be interested in the new Foveon CMOS chip
featured on the front page of the business section of today's (9/11/00)
New York Times. Looks like a 1-inch square, capable of 4100 X 4100, or
about 17 million pixels. It's black & white for now, but color is
promised. The article quotes the company press release as stating that
the technology will eventually "get rid of film" (or something like
that), even in larger formats. You can probably check it out at the
Times' web site.
No mention of an OM back, at least for now :)
