Hi,

I have updated the macro page and added a Thailand page.
Together about twenty new pictures, 1.1 Mb. It took me 1.5 hour to upload to
Xoom.
Well, it's for free... I keep saying to myself... %@*&@#@!!!

The butterfly pictures are taken at Lake Garden, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
I have no idea about the names of the butterflies, so if you can help me
finding the names I would be very happy.
Thanks to Daan Kalmeijer I now know that the "Humming Bee" is actually
called a "Bee fly"! (I like the Dutch name more: Wolzwever - "Woolglider")
All macro pictures are taken with the Zuiko 50 mm F3.5. I have used this
lens for over a decade now. This year I finally bought a new macro toy: the
80 mm F4 with the 65-116 tubes. Maybe next week I will upload some pictures
I have taken with this lens. The reason that I waited so long with buying an
extra macro lens is the fine quality and versatility of the 50 mm F3.5. A
truly classic Zuiko gem!
The pictures are scanned with the Agfa Snapscan 50e at 1200 DPI, which
results in images of about 1600x1060 pixels. For the web pages the pictures
are reduced in size to 800x530 or 400x600, with a severe jpeg compression.
It is hard to find a good balance between image quality and image size...
