I may have the same lens, Tamron made a couple different versions. I 
have an old one, with the "M/A" switch on the barrel. It has a macro 
function as well. I bought it for my wife, but the Nikon adaptall's we 
had wouldn't go on the lens but the Olympus one did, so I wound up with 
it. It seems fine to me given it's age. I don't use it very much 
because it is much heavier than my Zuiko prime lenses.
