The virus hit the company I work at to.
In general, if you do not have an e-mail program that
automatically executes attachments in your e-mails you
should be fine. If you use Pine for example, or the
Yahoo web e-mail. (Note: I think both of these program
will allow you to "launch" attachements. If you do
that all bets are off.)
The people most at risk are those who use Microsoft
Outlook.
The "ILOVEYOU" virus is run as a Visual Basic Script.
It changes things in the windows registry. If you read
mail on a UNIX box, you should be immune.
