Hi all

I got a question from someone in the US about the existence of flash sync cords
for the G40 flash in order to use it off camera with his iS-3. I told him that
there are no such things, but that there is the iS/L Multi-Flash Synchro Module
with which you can use a non dedicated flash off camera with the iS-3 / iS-3000.
He's now looking for one in the US, but he's nonetheless still attached to the
idea of building such a flash sync cord for the G40. Here's what he wrote in his
last post:

"Let me ask you one thing, though. The electronic contacts on the camera's
hot shoe transmit the distance information to the flash, information
gathered from the autofocus lens, at least when it's on programmed mode,
correct? Well, then, wouldn't it stand to reason that any hot shoe to hot
shoe cord, as long as it has the same number and positions of contacts as
the camera's, would also transmit the same information to the G40 flash? I'm
not an expert on the electronics of cameras and flash units, but it seems to
make intuitive sense. What do you think?"

Anyone having any suggestions? I know there are several people on the list that
have build all sorts of small OM accessories themselves, but I imagine their
interest in the iS series is very limited. ;-)
TIA for any help.
