 Hello!
 That's the subject for me. I have been using
 Minolta manual gear for some years and some
 Zuikos. I can frankly say which of them are
 equal rivals (and it's my opinion).
 I have got following Zuikos:
 24/2,8; 28/2,8; 50/1,8; 85/2; 35-105/3,5-4,5
 and have recently sold 35/2.

 As for Minolta, I have got:
 Rokkor MC 24/2,8 (Leica R 24/2,8 predecessor) is far
 better then Zuiko 24/2,8;
 Rokkor MD 28/2 is far better then Zuiko 28/2,8.
 Rokkor MC 35/1,8 is as good as Zuiko 35/2
 Rokkor MD 50/1,2 is superior,
 Rokkor MD 50/1,4 is as good as my Zuiko 50/1,8,
 Rokkor MC 85/1,8 is as good as Zuiko 85/2 but it
 seems Zuiko 85/2 has a bit better bokeh.
 And Zuiko 35-105/3,5-4,5 is in my opinion
 one of the best zooms ever made in this range,
 another two might be Nikkor and Minolta 35-105/3,5-4,5.
 In the past I had Zuiko 65-200/4 and Minolta 70-210/4
 (Leica R 70-210/4 predecessor) both of equal class.

 By the way, Is there anybody wanted to change
 Minolta 35-105/3,5-4,5 for my Zuiko 35-105/3,5-4,5 (minty
 optical and mechanical condition). Minolta must be
 in minty condition.

 As for Olympus bodies I have got two: OM-1 and OM-2N.
 (OM-2SP has been stolen).
 As for Minolta bodies: XD-11, XE-5 and SRT Super.
 It is impossible to compare any of them. They are class for
 its own, each of them.

         Best regards,
                 Zbigniew, Poland

 P.S. In one of "Amateur Photographer" (british) magazin
 there is a MTF tests for 8 portrait lenses.
 Ranking of first three is:

 Minolta AF 85/1,4;
 Nikkor 105/2 (very close to Minolta);
 Olympus 100/2 (not too far from these from above).

 Minolta 9000 - fantastic, cult camera, but with the first generation
 autofocus.
 You can always switch it off.
