You know how to raise a memory... like in 1960 heading for the "In-nOut"
in Baldwin Park, Calif after a night of illegally running my 1940 Ford
on the abandoned Irwindale drag strip (now a flood control reservoir).
About 6 or 7 years ago I ran into a young guy in Florida at the
Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge who was wearing an "In-nOut"
T-shirt. I said: "Great burgers!" He expressed great surprise that
anyone in Florida would know about "In-nOut" burgers. I had to explain
to him that I'd been eating those burgers since well before he was
born. But, alas, not recently.

"In-n-Out" is like. Unless you grew up with them, it doesn't make much
sense. For my personal opinion I like "In-nOut" better, but there not
a great hamburgers either. But until they started showing up around my
neck of the woods, I HAD to stop at the first one I came to when ever I
headed south on I-5 or Hwy. 101 (a mere 5 hours away). We even used the
$7.00 T shirts they sell as our Friday and Saturday uniforms, saving the
"Good Humor Shirts" for Sunday when we ran the Pro Atlantic circuit in
the early '90s...
