There was a looong heated debate about white/black/silver lenses in the
big glass on the rec.photo.equipment.35mm group (some of you might recall
it). There were good arguments on each side: to counter the argument given
above, take a look at the Nikkor 300/2; black body, 4 ED elements,
including perhaps one Asph. Not wanting to start a war, but curious as to
why Oly chose white. Were above lenses introduced before the Canon IS
lenses came out? In that case, it would be for publicity I think.
