Stewart,
the display metering circuit is completely seperate from the
auto exposure (off the film) metering circuit. Thus your camera works on auto
but the display circuit does not display speeds properly. It could be just
dirty wiper contacts which you can try to clean by rotating the shutter speed
ring and asa dial backward and forwards a number of times, but most likely
you need to have it fixed. John Hermanson who contributes to this list
specializes in OM repair and is in the NY area. He has a good reputation with
