Don,
You won't go wrong with the 3.5-4.5, and it is the lightest of the three
35-70's. I've never handled one, but I get the impression that the 3.6 is
probably the best of the three however. It seems to be the rarest find too.
I think the 3.5-4.5 is very nice to handle and it takes very good images. I
prefer my 35-105 and primes for exacting, tripod-mounted work, but the
3.5-4.5 handles beautifully and weighs less than a 85/2.
