I have just bought and read December issue of Japanese photography
magazine "Asahi Camera". It has special articles on OM-4Ti.
One article is interview to Mr.Maitani.
In the last Q&A he refers to next OM though it ended in only a dream of
him.
It is vague Japanese and it is hard for me to translate it clearly, but
I would like to do my best.
Translation;
Editor: Users are worrying about the future of OM, about their
continuation. It might be only a rumor, but I heard that OM-5 really
existed.
Maitani:It is not "5". Much greater... like integration of everything
following OM-1. It had completed in my mind. People tend to be
interested in each single functions. So I wanted to say, there is a
camera like this after all such discussion. But it was my big dream and
it was not realized.

Mr.Maitani was a chief engineer of OM development. He is executive
advisor of Olympus now.
