Good color, unusual composition, but I like it. Isn't that Poison Ivy in
the lower right?
-----------------------------

Yup, lots more Poison Ivy out of view of the camera. It grows very well
in eastern Massachusetts.

Are these apples all from the same tree? It looks like they're from at
least three different ones. Or, were different species of apples grafted
onto a host trunk? Anyway, I do like the picture- lots of different
textures, and better focused than a lot of my shots.
-------------------------------

I have six apple trees which, as far as I know, all produce the same
type of apples. It's possible that the apples in the photograph come
from two different trees but not three. The trees are very, very old
and the birds and bugs have free rein on the fruit. I believe that the
only real differences between the apples is that they were all in
different stages of health when they fell from the tree and are shown in
very different stages of decay.

The photograph is not posed in any way except that one of the apples in
the viewfinder was totally rotten and I replaced it with another that
was just outside the viewfinder. There were several hundred to choose
from :)

Re: focus. This is the first photo to be taken from my newly acquired
Bogen 3401 which started the tripod thread here a couple of months ago.
I was trying out the optional horizontal mounting of the center post
which is why the picture is taken directly from above. Focus is not
hard with a rock steady camera and plenty of time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

And it's clear that not everybody liked it.
