In my mind, the Unofficial Gallery and the ADITL are two distinct forums. I
like the Gallery as it is, organized by photographer. I don't think I would
like a gallery organized by subject, because then my stuff would be too
easily compared to everyone else's wonderful work (and thus probably
panned!). One of the things I like to do in the gallery is browse around,
which I think is more entertaining when the images are not all of similar
subjects.
As for future ADITL's - let's just pick a topic and go! If it's something I
can't or don't want to do, I'll just wait for the next one.
As an aside, what does everyone think about publicizing the ADITL, and maybe
the gallery, too? I considered posting something on the rec.photo newsgroups,
but I wouldn't want to do that unless others agreed. Personally I would
welcome additional criticism, even at the expense of the odd jerk making
derogatory remarks.
One thing I've learned by participating in the Gallery and the ADITL is that
I need to shoot more film. Lots more film.
