Susan,
I'm curious as to what and how many parts were missing? Were they parts that
were probably taken to repair other cameras, since they were sending yours
back as "unrepairable" I guess you were supposed to believe them and throw
the camera away and not send it out to someone else; or do you think it was a
case where some idiot took it apart and lost the missing parts and just gave
up on the repair? Or, we may never know exactly what happened to your camera.
Either way, IMO, you have a very strong lesson for all of us - NEVER give
your camera to a "local" shop where you don't know who's actually going to
work on the camera.
