I'm in much the same boat. I've been reading reports on this and other film
scanners for months and the rave and hate postings on the Photo Smart seem
to balance out -- it seems that you just have to lucky and get a good one!
In the lower(!) price ranges the Minolta Dimage Dualscan seems to be well
liked - once you've solved the installation problems, and that's the one I'm
leaning towards, but I want the price drop to come before I buy it and not
afterwards, as usually happens.
