Moisture.  Cooking induces steam into the indoor environment which does get
inside the cameras and lenses.  Going back outdoors with this same
equipment will cause that moisture to condense (if it hasn't already) and
freeze in place.  For this very reason they also keep a shotgun (for Polar
Bears) just *outside* the door.

This guy did an assignment to the tropics and then the next week was back
in Canada.  Half of his equipment was non-functional until he dried
everything out with a hairdryer.
