CAmeras like the 10, G, F, 77, 88 were not the brainchildren of Maitani.
He didn't believe these kind of cameras were "necessary", but they were
created out of necessaity by Olympus to compete with other brands.

An OM camera model  that has the insignia letters or numbers in an
OUTLINE (like the 10 etc.) instead of  SOLID block letters (1, 2, 3, 4,
etc) were created by camera design teams not necessarily with Maitanis
full involvement.
