Just found a site that has actual scanned images of US patents. Several
Olympus/Maitani patents are listed and contain lots of information on the
design of OM cameras. Great stuff if you're a techy like me.
The site is at:

Perform a search on 'Maitani' and select 'US inventors & companies" from the
pull-down menu.
Some patents of particular interest are No. 4,618,238 which is for the OM-4.
An illustration shows an OM-2 but with hilight, shadow, and spot buttons.
Design patent No. 282,932 shows the the OM-4 in its final form. Patent No.
4,355,874 is for the program function of the OM-2S (SP) and OM-PC (40).
