[OM] An Olympus camera for Christmas?

Or, for the more politically correct, An Olympus camera for winter
time...... :)

I have three Olympus bodies for sale. There is a story to go with each.

During August this year I accidentally dropped my camera bag - the top was
open and an OM1N and an OM4T with MD2 fitted fell about two feet onto a
hard floor. The MD2 and OM1N were now non-functional, the OM4T (which had
been protected by the MD2) seemed fine. After discussions with my insurance
company I sent all three to my nearest official Olympus camera repair
centre. After some delay (4 months!) I have now received them back and as I
had to purchase other bodies to use in the meantime they are now for sale -
the insurance company paid for 750f the repair.

Olympus OM4T champagne, cosmetic condition 8+/10 with a little brassing
above strap lugs, on pentaprism, on base and some paint missing on back.
Mechanically and electronically perfect with all caps/covers and an OLY
strap. This camera was sent back to Olympus UK for a new circuit board (I
suspect that this problem had nothing to do with the drop) which cost a
total of 143UKP. It now has a full 6 month guarantee from Olympus UK -
asking 465UKP INCLUDING shipping to Europe/US.

Olympus OM1N black - cosmetic condition 9/10 with just some paint missing
on back and a tiny ding on the pentaprism. Mechanically and electrically
perfect with all caps and covers and an OLY strap. This camera was repaired
for an internal mechanical problem due to the drop at a total cost of
85UKP. It had also just had the adapter fitted and the meter recalibrated
which allows it to use a normal silver oxide cell rather than the obsolete
mercury cell at a cost of 35UKP. It now has a full 6 month guarantee from
Olympus UK - asking 150UKP INCLUDING shipping to Europe/US.

Olympus OM2N chrome - not dropped! - cosmetic condition 9/10 with just some
paint missing on back and a very little brassing above the strap lugs. Has
all caps and covers and an OLY strap. This camera has a potential problem
which the buyer needs to be aware of. I have owned it since new and on two
occasions (7 years ago and 3 months ago) the shutter jammed. On the second
occasion I followed the advice of someone on the list and carefully poked
beneath the motordrive cap with a small screwdriver and suddenly all was
well. It has worked fine in between times but presumably could do with
checking over. Asking 140UKP INCLUDING shipping to Europe/US.

Please e-mail for further details or information.

Best wishes for a happy holiday time, David
