There are a lot of interesting developments...
The Contax is a 6x4.5 SLR with all new AF internal-motor lenses. Better
photos and specs can be found at www.contaxcameras.com. Looks like a dream
camera if you like the format. Unfortunately, like all things Zeiss, out of
the range of many people--seems like a body, back, and lens will street for
$4000 or more.
The 'Blad, which is previewed in this month's Pop Photo, and rumors of
which were discussed on this list, with me being one of the sceptics <g>,
is a 35mm RF that can be switched into panoramic mode. Unfortunately it
seem the whol shebang is made by Fuji, and will be sold in Japan
Fuji-badged, and elsewhere as a 'Blad.
And you've missed the new Canon EOS3, which features 25-point eye-control
AF in a pro body, with wireless multi-flash control. Not sure if it's a
replacement to the 1n, or what.
These are all facts; the rumours are just as tantilizing, such as a 6x7
rangefinder from an 'unexpected source'. Nothing of interest on the Oly
front, it appears...
