Rand E. already answered this.

The FT lenses have dual engraving on their aperture ring -- both
f-values and a "0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7" scale. The latter corresponds to
the meter values visible in the FT viewfinder. The digits scale
is opposite the f-values scale. One can switch between the two by
pulling up and rotating the aperture ring.

P.S. FYI, I'm back, and am slowly catching up with the list. Thus
far, it seems like in my absence there has been a lot of mischief,
lewd behavior (Giles, shame on you :-)), and other vices going on.
Way to go, everyone! You make me sooooo proud ;-) It's good to be
back.

Cheers,
