I think you're right here, Gary, at least in my case. Both my 35/2.8 
and 135/3.5 are early non-MC, but they definitely have more than one 
coating hue, a distinct yellow, and a not-so-distinct blue/purple.

And speaking of early Zuikos, I came across the following while 
searching for the bill for my 4-T:

OM-2 Manual - dated 09/77
OM Manual for FlashPhoto group - 04/78
OM Manual for Zuiko Lenses - 10/76

I don't know how common these are, but if anyone needs a copy, let me 
know.
