Oh Yes.

In short: YES!

If you're using slow lenses as 4.5, 5.6, 6.3 etc the benefit is enormous. If
you have 2.0 lenses the benefits are not so great. One member of this list
also complained about the difficulty when using slow wide-angles. I
personally prefer the 2-4 without anything at all in the middle, always
center focusing your subjects is a beginners sin in photography and this
screen helps you avoiding that.
But these matters tend to be very personal, what works for one user might
not work for another. IMO these screens are the most important thing I've
purchased the last years. I'm regularly using the 300/4.5 with 1.4X, for
birdphotography and with newer batter and faster films I can get results I
couldn't dream of at the time when the camera (OM4Ti) was introduced!
Macro-work also becomes a breeze.
