Chris

I had a quick play with this with my OM-2n last night. It did seem to
work, i.e. I could get shutter speeds with the T32 below 1/60 and the
viewfinder seemed to indicate correct exposure. The results were a bit
erattic though, actual speeds not being what was indicated in the
viewfinder. This could be due, however, to there being no film in the
camera, or the sometimes erratic circuitry in my OM-2n. I'd appreciate
hearing what anyone else discovers.

While we're on this topic, there was a discussion on the list re
fill-flash a couple of months back. At the risk of repetition:

I have wanted to get -2 stops fill flash from a T32 with an OM-2n with a
correct "ambient" exposure. I had raised the idea of just dialling in -2
on the compensation dial, but I was correctly reminded that the camera
will compensate and the ev will change, therefore giving me an incorrect
ambient exposure even tho I'd get 2 stops less flash.

Warren Kato pointed out that I could set the OM on auto, with the flash
on auto, a correct exposure set with the lens at (say) 5.6 and the flash
set on auto at 11, therefore giving -2 stops fill flash. However, the
camera will still fire at 1/60 (tape bits aside) and the ambient
exposure may well be out.

The only sure way I can figure is to set camera on manual, set camera to
1/60 or 1/30 to get a correct ambient reading of say 11, then set the
T32 on auto at 5.6, thus giving correct ambient background and -2 stops
fill flash.

Whew! Am I way off here?? Any thoughts once again greatly appreciated!
