Your camera was not perfectly vertical, that's all. When your tripod plate
is perfectly horizontal you can rotate the camera in all directions and all
the vertical lines keep vertical. This is the definitive evidence you are
vertical. Then *begin* to shift your lens. It is better to work on the
tripod, so you can always adjust your camera as you like, when the tripod
is done. The items I suggested in this same thread can be helpful...
